Corbel House is a contemporary family home designed for a steep, narrow waterfront site in Seaforth, NSW. Inspired by the historic architectural “corbel” – a stepped element projecting from a wall to support weight – the design allows the three-level home to expand outward while maintaining a minimal footprint on the land.
The result is a light-filled residence that maximises water views while preserving the natural landscape and wildlife corridor. Internally, the home features bespoke details including a curved steel staircase, a sculptural concrete kitchen island, brass-accented joinery, and an internal garden that brings nature into the living spaces.
With its distinctive concrete exterior, laser-cut formwork detailing, and sandstone elements referencing historical architecture, Corbel House reinterprets traditional structural ideas to create a refined and contemporary waterfront home.
